My Thoughts On Everything
Here is a quick dinner idea to make this Valentine's day. You'll need... - Pizza dough (sold at grocery stores or buy a ball at your local pizzeria) - Tomato based sauce (I use my favorite spaghetti sauce) - Low-fat Mexican cheese blend - Any of your favorite toppings: mushrooms, pepperoni, etc... To make... Preheat oven to 400. Roll dough into heart shape. Place on greased cookie sheet. Top with a thin layer of sauce, toppings of choice and then cheese. Bake for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown ENJOY! Nutrition- varies |
You'll need... - 1/2 pound unsalted butter, softened - 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour - 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt - 1 tablespoon skim or 2% milk - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract To make... Preheat oven to 325. Mix butter in a mixer until light and fluffy; add remaining ingredients mixing to incorporate. Remove dough from bowl and knead until velvety. Roll one-half of the dough at a time to about 1/4 inch thickness using the smallest amount of flour possible. Cut out and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake on a lightly greased pan for 12 minutes. Cookies will be almost white when cooked. Enjoy! |
Is it hard to remember life before kids? Use this Valentine's day to rekindle your relationship. If you have a sitter, have a special date night: dinner or just dessert! Can't get out? After putting the kids to bed (hopefully early), enjoy a candlelit dessert. Buy some fine chocolates or use my easy recipe: Truffles 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 tablespoon light corn syrup 8 ounces semisweet or milk chocolate (use GOOD quality chocolate- Lindt, Ghiradelli, Guittard, Scharffen Berger, amongst others). coating- ground nuts, cocoa powder, coconut flakes, etc... Combine cream, butter and corn syrup in small pot; bring to a simmer over low heat. Remove from heat. Add chocolate to cream and whisk until smooth. Cool for 2 to 3 hours at room temperature. Once cooled, use a melon baller or small ice cream scoop to gather a small ball of chocolate. Place on a lined cookie sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Once chilled and firm, roll the chocolate in hand until round, then roll in coating of choice. Truffles will keep for weeks in the refrigerator if stored in an air-tight container. Serve at room temp. |
Escalade Sports, of Evansville, IN and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), have recalled their Oasis Playsets. The swing seats on the playsets can crack and break in half, causing the user to fall to the ground. This recall involves belt-style swing seats on four models of Oasis Playsets: PG01W, PG02W, PG03W and PG04W. The playsets were sold by Oasis distributors and dealers nationwide from April 2008 to December 2010 for between $1,500 and $2,200. Consumers should immediately stop using these swing seats and contact Escalade Sports for free replacement swing seats. escaladesports.com |
You'll need... - crayon pieces - heart-shaped metal muffin tray - scrap paper - double-sided foam tape - scissors - colored card stock - markers To make... Heat the oven to 250°. Fill each mold with crayon pieces and bake until the crayons melt, about 10 to 15 minutes. Tip: Place a sheet pan under the crayons to catch any drips. Once they're cool, remove the hearts from the molds and smooth any rough edges by rubbing them on a piece of scrap paper. Use small pieces of foam tape to stick each heart to a 3-inch circle cut from card stock, then add your message. |
